What is loft insulation?
Loft insulation is man-made mineral fibre, often referred to as “Quilt” the material generally used is made from silica sand, creating a wool-type product also known as glass wool and comes in roll form.
Why should I insulate my loft?
25% of heat is lost through your roof if not insulated correctly and you will benefit from significant savings on your heating bills.
How long does it take?
The installation should take 1-2 hours to complete.
How long does loft insulation last?
Providing the material is left undisturbed, it should last indefinitely.
What happens to my stored items in the loft?
You will need to make sure any stored items, including boards are cleared prior to installation taking place.
Smaller items such as Christmas decorations or suitcases can be moved by our technicians, however we cannot move larger items.
What if I have boards in my loft?
Boarded areas will have to be removed prior to installation. If you do not wish to remove the boarded area we are able to lay insulation over the boards, providing there is sufficient insulation underneath.
Alternatively, we can leave a boarded area for storage. 75% of the loft must be insulated in order to claim for any insulation grant.
We can provide a quotation for supplying and installing a boarded area (includes raising the joists).
Is there much mess?
No, a small amount of dust can fall from the loft hatch, which will be cleared our technicians along with any left over packaging.
