As well as the traditional Insulation measures, Baring Insulation Ltd are also able to offer additional energy saving measures. More cost effective ways to save energy around your home.
Real Time Displays
We fit the OWL Wireless Electricity Monitor which is designed to help you save money, electricity and the environment. It provides real time monetary information about your household’s energy usage. When lights and appliances are turned on, the monitor’s easy-to-read display shows exactly how much electricity is being used, how the cost of electricity per hour and how much harmful C02 you home is emitting.
Standby Switches
A Standby Buster ensures that any electrical equipment left on stand-by is turned off. A remote controlled electrical socket for up to 3680w and a remote controller can operate in a number of zones in your home.
Water Saving Showerhead
The showerhead has a universal fitting and is simple to install. It reduces the flow of water and has an easy clean anti-liming fascia, and can cut water and energy use by up to 60%.
Tap Aerator
The aerator fits most UK taps and reduces the flow of water giving an even spray pattern. They are simple to fit and can save you up to 55% on your energy and water use. It’s design inhibits lime build up and it has an integral anti-clogging dome screen to filter sediment.
Radiator Reflector Panels
Up to 70% of the heat from the back of the radiator is used to heat the wall behind it. A reflective panel fitted behind the radiator will stop this happening and ensure that the room is heated more quickly. It will also help retain the heat in the system so that your boiler fires less and uses less fuel.
Draught Proofing
Draught proofing is one of the most inexpensive ways of saving energy in the home. By installing draught proofing you could save £30 on your annual heating bills and around 150kg of C02 a year.
Hot Water Jacket
Most Cylinders are pre-insulated with foam before they are installed and do not require any additional insulation. However, if your hot water tank needs extra insulation, a tank jacket will reduce heat loss and save up to 200kg of C02 a year.
Smoke Alarms
A 10 year battery Dicon smoke alarm is recommended on each floor of the property.
Low Energy Lightbulbs
We fit Phillips Genie Energy Saver low energy bulbs which can last for eight years if used for three hours a day. An 18watt bulb is equivalent to a 100w incandescent bulb and the 11watt version is equivalent to a 60w bulb. These bulbs are an improvement on the original low energy bulbs that were slow to start and a bit dim!
